Greenpoint has a long history of organizing parades. This section, will from news paper articles will highlight some of these parades. Some of the participating no longer exist.

Currently there is one active Veterans organization in Greenpoint, St. Stanislaus  Memorial American Legion Post 1771. There is however one inactive VFW George Black Post 1818.

The closest active veterans organizations is Post 5806 P.F.C. John P. Czachor Post located at 181 Grand St. Brooklyn, NY 11211. Another is the Catholic War Veterans, St. Elias Post.
